Metropolitan Publishing Textile View Magazine – The Brixton series

As a long time collaborator with Metropolitan I was commissioned to work on a series of covers for their best selling and longest running title, Textile View.

The magazine is published globally on a quarterly basis and is widely regarded as a touchstone to the fashion, textile and trend forecast sectors – to some in the industry even referred to as the ʻBibleʼ.

The project’s focus, specifically with our international subscribers in mind, was to show London from an alternative perspective, one less expected in the 21st Century; that of the urban village – specifically in Brixton, my home.

The series was shot in and around the area, exploring themes of regeneration and reconnections with nature, with the aim of showing a different pace of life in a vibrant and ever changing area, a stoneʼs throw from the homogenized west end shopping streets, bustling tourist attractions and increasingly unfamiliar futuristic city skyline.
