David Burton is a London based photographer who works in the branding, food, drink, product and merchandising industries. He has shot for a wide variety of premium brands, agencies, publishers, institutions and individuals, both in the UK and overseas and has had work published worldwide.
His original primary area of expertise was studio still life photography, honing his skills shooting for drinks and electronics companies whilst simultaneously creating and shooting trend forecasts for the Netherlands based publisher Metropolitan. He has since been involved in numerous product brand launches, website builds, art directed campaigns, designed and constructed sets, styled books, managed large scale productions, created image libraries and exhibited personal work to acclaim. Most recently at the invitation of the Ca’Foscari university in Venice.
As well as shooting and working individually he is a partner of www.studio68b.com, a specialist branding based imaging studio, specifically set up to assist start-ups, entrepeneurs and fledgling businesses, creating tailor-made visual assets and brainstorming marketing & campaign ideas, using both still and moving image.
He is also now the creative director of the wellness brand free-spirit.uk and is a part of the Penniblack collective, a catering and production group offering unique & premium quality dining and hospitality experiences.
David has many personal interests which cross over and inform his work as a photographer. Carpentry, music, food, fashion, architecture and street culture.
He has two daughters who love a lie-in, even though they’re now in their 20’s.

Client testimonials
I work with designers, publishers, Ad agencies, architects, authors, stylists, start-ups, creatives, craftsmen, inventors, entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, rebrands and a wide range of household names and multinationals.
Here's what some of them had to say about working with me & studio68b...
“We worked with Dave & studio68b across two high profile creative projects for J.K. Rowling - our rebrand of Pottermore and her personal website jkrowling.com. Photography featured prominently in our solutions for both projects and David and Jess truly delivered. They understood our creative vision and worked hand in hand with us to deliver the uncompromising level of photography required. A pleasure to work with and the highest of standards."
Stephen Brennan Why? Projects, design director
"I've had the privilege of working with some wonderful photographers over the years including inspirational legends, Snowdon, John Donat and Ken Kirkwood.
I can’t remember when we first commissioned the equally inspirational Dave Burton, perhaps 20 years ago? Since then the technology has changed out of all recognition, Dave’s eye has remained constant, he is an experienced, master of his craft. Most of our work is medium sized furniture and product design and our requirements can be quite complex requiring props and room sets.
Dave tackles our jobs with an extraordinary energy and enthusiasm. His unique perspective very often lifts our work on to another level and in a direction we hadn’t considered.
Dave’s dynamic photographic style enhances our work, surprises and wows, the photographs are good enough to eat.
While I write this message on my computer I suddenly realise my screen saver is one of Dave’s beautiful images - thanks Dave."
Nigel James Mac-Fall, RED STUDIO
"We have been using 68b for our food photography for the last ten or so years. They have transformed our image, and provided us with completely unique and inspirational pictures to win over our clients, and given us with a strong USP in our market. The impact on our sales has been tenfold. Working on projects with Jess and Dave is great fun. They are constantly coming up with new innovative ideas, which excites and motivates the whole team, and their enthusiasm is contagious. They are a total breath of fresh air."
Charlotte Penniceard, PENNIBLACK caterers
"Working with 68b is like a breath of fresh air, no project too small (despite their portfolio), their professionalism and eye for unique detail and sense of passion brings the unseen into life. They are true magicians, generous, capable and go consistently beyond the expected."
Charmaine Wasif , ECO RESTAURANTS GROUP director & senior manager.
